At Bharti Foundation, accessible from https://bharti-foundation.com/, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors and donors. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it and how we use it.
If you have additional questions or require more information about our Privacy Policy, please feel free to contact us.
This Privacy Policy applies only to our online activities and is valid for visitors to our website regarding the information they share on Bharti Foundation. It does not apply to information collected offline or via other channels.
Consent
By using our website, you consent to our Privacy Policy and agree to its terms.
Information We Collect
We only ask for the information we need, and the reason is made clear on the form where we ask for it.
- When you donate: your name, email address, phone number and, if you choose to give it, your PAN. PAN is needed only to claim the 80G tax deduction on your receipt. We also record the amount, the date and the payment method.
- When you set up a monthly or yearly donation: the same details, plus the Razorpay reference for your recurring donation so that we can record each payment and let you cancel it.
- When you sign up as a volunteer: your name, WhatsApp number, city and anything you tell us about how you would like to help.
- When you contact us: your name, phone number and your message.
Payments are made on Razorpay’s secure checkout. Your card, UPI or bank account details are entered with Razorpay and are never sent to or stored by Bharti Foundation; we only receive a payment reference and the payment status.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Record your donation and email your donation receipt and our 80G certificate
- Record each payment of a recurring donation and send you a secure link if you ask to cancel it
- Reply to your messages and coordinate with you as a volunteer
- Communicate with you about your donation and about our work
- Keep our accounts and meet our legal obligations, including reporting donations to the Income Tax Department where the law requires it
- Protect our forms from spam and abuse, and detect and prevent fraud
- Operate, maintain and improve our website
Who We Share It With
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only where needed to provide our services or where the law requires it:
- Razorpay, to process your payment and recurring donation
- Our email and hosting providers, to run the website and send your receipts
- Cloudflare, whose Turnstile check protects our forms from spam
- Government authorities, such as the Income Tax Department, where we are legally required to do so
How Long We Keep It
Donation records and receipts are kept for as long as tax and audit laws require. Messages and volunteer details are kept only as long as we need them to respond to you and to coordinate our activities.
Your Choices
- You can ask us to correct your details or to send a corrected receipt.
- You can cancel a recurring donation at any time on our Cancel Recurring Donation page.
- You can ask us to delete your information, except for donation records that we must keep by law.
Log Files
Like most websites, our server keeps standard log files. These may include IP addresses, browser type, internet service provider, date and time stamp, and referring and exit pages. This information is used to keep the website secure and running, and is not used to identify you.
Cookies
Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Only cookies needed for the site to work are used, such as those set by Razorpay’s checkout and Cloudflare’s spam check to keep payments and forms secure.
